Siemens Acquires Core Assets of Harbour Networks


(SinoCast Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)BEIJING, Jan 02, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) --Siemens, one of the world's largest electrical and electronics conglomerates, was reported to have seized core assets of Harbour Networks Co., a young and energetic broadband IP network equipment provider in China.



On December 23, Siemens officially signed the purchase agreement with Harbour Networks to pay USD 110 million for the Beijing-based company's technologies and patents for three series of high-end broadband products, as well as more than 100 engineers, sources said.

The profit generated from those assets accounts for approximately 60% of the total, according to the sources.


However, the transaction has not been confirmed yet up to now.

In addition, Huang Yaoxu, vice president of Harbour Networks, refused to comment on the affair.
