MMTAT Inc. Responds to the Tornado Ravaged Town of Greensburg, Kansas to Meet Their Critical Law Enforcement Commmand, Control and Communication Needs with a Mobile Incident Command Center and Mobile Power and Communication Unit.

GREENSBURG, Kan. --(Business Wire)-- With more than 90% of the town of Greensburg, Kansas destroyed by the first recorded "5" rated tornado using the National Weather Service's newly adopted Enhanced-Fujita rating scale, James Ramsey, CEO of MMTAT Inc. (http://www.mmtat.com) quickly responded to meet their urgent law enforcement command recovery needs with a multi-purpose, emergency response vehicle and a team of experienced IT, logistics and engineering technical staff.

"When we saw Greensburg's City Administrator Steve Hewitt tour the destruction left in the tornado's wake of what was once his idyllic Kansas town, and feeling the enormity of the loss when he said, "my town is gone", it was the feeling throughout our entire company that we needed to help the city and people of Greensburg" added Ramsey.

After contacting several federal, state and local agencies who were coordinating response and recovery efforts for Greensburg, MMTAT's offer of assistance was gladly accepted by the Department of Kansas Emergency Management and Sheriff Vernon Chinn, Pratt County's Sheriff and designated Greensburg Law Enforcement Branch Director. Sheriff Chinn stated, "MMTAT's Mobile Command Center was exactly what we needed to efficiently coordinate our law enforcement mission without any disruptions in protecting this defenseless city." Sheriff Chinn added, "This valuable resource allowed all heads of Law Enforcement drawn from across the state to securely meet and plan all facets of their daily Incident Action Plans."

Detective Brian Peters, the LE Branch Incident Action Plan Officer on temporary assignment from Olathe Police Department also commented that, "More than twenty-five different law enforcement agencies and counties are effectively coordinating their security and law enforcement operations and Incident Action Planning responsibilities from MMTAT's spacious and technologically outfitted Mobile Command Center."

MMTAT dispatched this 53' technologically robust mobile center from a forward readiness depot in Austin, Texas to Greensburg, Kansas. Once secured on location, within the Greensburg, Kansas Incident Base Camp, it was quickly reconfigured into a law enforcement command center and made ready for immediate use. These mobile units provide approximately 650 sq feet of ergonomically designed sound-deadening work center space, 24 networked desktop computers, auto-tracking bi-directional satellite connectivity providing secure high speed internet access and VoIP capable phones, along with useable operational planning, briefing and conference area along with a private office for the LE Deputy Director's use.

MMTAT also responded with a state-of-the-art Mobile Power and Communication Unit (MPCU) from Downey, California that provided additional law enforcement services for the Greensburg Memorial Day Rodeo to help bring the residents and neighboring communities of Greensburg together to contribute to the community-wide healing and recovery process. MMTAT's MPCU is designed to quickly restore critical power, provide scene lighting, wireless WAN or security camera viewpoint from a telescoping mast, along with VoIP phone service and secure high-speed internet access for any emergency.

Although the unusual circumstances of this May 4th tornado resulted in nearly the entire destruction of a town of 1600 people, the National Weather Service estimates the U.S. averages 1200 tornadoes every year. Ramsey added, "As such, any town, county or state in 'Tornado Alley' should be well prepared with access to emergency command and control resources." "Although we're only a small part of an enormous recovery effort, MMTAT is proud to be of service to the unified law enforcement command's needs and expects to be onsite through late June 2007."
