KKR Appoints John Pattar as Member and Head of Asia Pacific Real Estate


Global investment firm KKR today announced the appointment of real estate veteran John Pattar as Member and Head of KKR's real estate business in Asia Pacific.

Mr. Pattar will assume leadership of KKR's existing Asia real estate team and work alongside the firm's regional investment teams and leadership to source attractive real estate investment opportunities across Asia Pacific. He will also assist Asian clients in partnering with KKR to access real estate opportunities globally. Based in Hong Kong, Mr. Pattar brings to KKR nearly three decades of real estate investment and management experience, as well as a proven track record of creating value in real estate assets across Asia Pacific.

Mr. Pattar joins KKR from CLSA Capital Partners in Hong Kong, where he was the CEO of CLSA Real Estate. He joined CLSA in 2004 and most recently oversaw the operation of Fudo Capital, a collection of property funds targeting real estate investment in Asia Pacific. He has worked across property investment, development, capital transactions and asset management in Asia for nearly 30 years, in markets including Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. Mr. Pattar has a Bachelor of Laws degree from King's College, University of London and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

KKR's real estate business mandate globally is to make control or influence investments and transactions across the capital structure. Since 2011, KKR has committed approximately US$2 billion in equity and debt across more than 40 real estate transactions in Asia Pacific markets including Australia, China, India, Singapore and South Korea, as of March 31, 2018.
