Harvest Venture Builder Expands Leadership Team With The Launch Of Its New Climate And Energy AI Vertical


Harvest Venture Builders, a not-for-profit early-stage venture studio, is proud to announce the launch of its new global climate and energy vertical, and expansion of its leadership team with proven energy and AI technology experts. The new vertical will specifically focus on building and fostering a multifaceted and interdependent ecosystem that is centered around the implementation of AI operations for energy infrastructure. This ecosystem will provide the framework for Calgary, Alberta, a world leader in energy technology, to emerge as the global hub for Energy AI.

Within this new vertical, Harvest addresses the barriers limiting the innovation, capitalization and commercialization of critical energy technologies by building infrastructure that has been specifically designed to support cross-industry collaboration. Leading this new vertical are Dan Chapman, Head of Climate and Energy, and Tevi Legge, Head of Innovation. Dan Chapman brings over 15 years of experience in the clean electricity sector, and is recognized as a driving force of energy storage adoption in Canada. Dan has led the development of several marquee Canadian projects, including the first battery asset in Alberta, the first hybrid solar and battery project in Alberta, the largest battery project in Canada, and hassupported the scaling of innovative new energy business models. Tevi Legge, who previously served as the Vice President and Head of Digital Product at ATB, has emerged as a prominent leader in the field of product development, leading several high-profile projects across digital finance and services. Tevi has been recognized as one of Canada's Most Powerful Women by the Women's Executive Network and as one of the Top 100 Women in Tech by Fintech Magazine.

Further supporting the climate and energy vertical, Harvest is welcoming three leading industry minds across AI and energy. Dan Preston, SVP Strategic Initiatives at Lemonade and former CEO of Metromile, is a highly respected technology entrepreneur who established Metromile as the insurance industry leader in leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning. Chris Foster, former Chief Innovation Officer at TC Energy, brings a wealth of experience in the energy sector and has been recognized globally as a thought leader in innovation and sustainability. Jordan Balaban, President of Greengate Power Corporation, has been instrumental in the development of several ground-breaking projects, including the largest wind and solar assets in Alberta.


In the upcoming months, Harvest will be launching a number of new projects supporting our climate and energy vertical with partners from across North America and around the globe. These projects will support the broad development and maturation of an Energy AI ecosystem and capital market with Calgary, Alberta, Canada at the forefront.
