Global Industry Leaders Converge on SOLARCON China 2012

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SHANGHAI, Feb. 21 -- The Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International issued the following news release: Leading global solar companies, including China's top three cell and module makers Suntech, Trina Solar and LDK, will exhibit at the SOLARCON China 2012 exhibition -- the premier PV manufacturing and technology platform in China. Over 50,000 attendees are expected to converge on the Shanghai New International Expo Centre to attend concurrent exhibitions, including SOLARCON China and SEMICON China, on March 20-22-- to see, experience and learn about the latest developments in solar energy and more. In addition, SOLARCON China features the China solar industry's most comprehensive technical conference, and critical forums on the global PV technology roadmap, international trade, large-scale project implementation and more.

At SOLARCON China, an invited speaker, Prof. Xu Honghua from China Academia of Science, will share the China National PV R&D roadmap for the first time. In addition, a major highlight of the event is the preview of the 2011 edition of the c-Si solar technology roadmap (ITRPV) at the International PV Technology Roadmap (ITRPV) Forum on March 20. The ITRPV represents the common goals of leading PV manufacturers worldwide and aims to inform suppliers and customers about expected technology trends in the field of crystalline silicon (c-Si) photovoltaic and sets a baseline to continue the dialog on required improvements and standards. Speakers from Q-Cells, Trina Solar and Despatch representing cell/module manufacturing as well as equipment/material suppliers will share their view on production technology trends.

Additional Highlights at SOLARCON China 2012 The International PV Trade Partner Forum provides a platform to drive consensus among PV industry stakeholders working towards a common goal of creating an open and fair international trade environment which is favorable to the industry's sustained growth. Executives from leading PV companies will share their vision on PV supply chain development and collaboration.

The SEMI International PV Standards Forum, presented by the newly formed SEMI China PV Standards Committee, will encourage cooperation between local Chinese companies and the global community to develop and adopt PV manufacturing standards that will lower the costs as well as improve production efficiency.

The China PV Technology International Conference (CPTIC) 2012, one of the largest annual PV technology conferences in China, will provide a platform for over 50 world-class international PV experts to discuss PV manufacturing technology. Keynote speakers from: centrotherm, Chinese Academy of Sciences, MEMC Electronic Materials, Pall Corporation, Suntech Power, Trina Solar, University of New South Wales, and Utrecht University will present. CPTIC is organized by SEMI and co-organized by China Photovoltaic Industrial Alliance (CPIA).

The PV Project Implementation Conference-China 2012 will focus on project development, regulatory landscape, financing, operations/maintenance. This conference (presented by Solarpraxis in partnership with SEMI) features speakers from China Development Bank, China Technology Development Group, Deutsche Bank, Enerparc, GCL Energy, IBC Solar, K&L Gates, REN Energy Group, Solar Asset Management, SunEdison, and WIRSOL. The special guests from the central and western provincial government also will share their latest PV project development plan during this conference.

A Grand Review of China's High-Tech Parks will take place on March 20-22 on the SOLARCON exhibition floor. China's high-tech parks play an important role in shaping China's semiconductor and emerging market (photovoltaic, HB-LED, etc.) industries. China's regional governments overseeing these high-tech parks strongly support and are willing to provide additional resources to develop the semiconductor industry. Leaders from China's major municipal governments and high-tech parks are invited to introduce their development plans and special policies. This High-Tech Park review area provides an excellent opportunity for companies which plan to expand China operations and market access.

The SOLARCON China exhibition offers a unique platform for companies to showcase their PV manufacturing technology and products: PV cells and modules; materials and equipment; PV balance of systems (BOS); PV components, tracking and mounting systems; PV applications; solar thermal and applications/technology.
