SAN MATEO, Calif., Nov. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Medallia, Inc. In recent months, customer experience has emerged as a critical focal point for the government as evidenced by advancements including the introduction of supporting legislation within Congress, the creation of the White House's Office of American Innovation and the publication of the President's Management Agenda, specifically CAP Goal 4, "Improving Customer Experience."

"As we worked to modernize government, we prioritized the importance of understanding the citizen experience first," said Aneesh Chopra, former White House appointee who was the first Chief Technology Officer of the United States and current President of CareJourney. "The Medallia platform represents a better way for agencies to ingest and use customer experience data to deliver better services for our fellow Americans, especially when they need them most."

Medallia has provided VA with a Software-as-a Service Customer Engagement Management Solution to support VA's customer service mission, a government institution that touches citizen lives every day.

The Medallia Public Sector Advisory Board will take that experience and help expand it to other vital areas of government such as healthcare and education.

The public sector advisory board includes:

Aneesh Chopra, an American executive who served as the first CTO of the United States. He was appointed in 2009 by President Barack Obama and was at the White House through 2012. He is the author of "Innovative State: How New Technologies Can Transform Government" and President of CareJourney.

<>Ann Veneman was appointed by the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and served as the Executive Director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) from 2005 to 2010. She previously served as the United States Secretary of Agriculture from 2001 to 2005. The only woman ever to serve in that position, she directed one  of the largest and most diverse agencies in government. She also served as the California Secretary of Food and Agriculture from 1995 to 1999 and in a number of positions in USDA earlier in her career including Deputy Secretary.  She currently sits on a number of boards and advisory boards for corporations, start-ups and non-profits.

Mike Kourey is the Chair of the Medallia Public Advisory Board where he will focus on growing the company's nascent government business. With over 20 years of operating and board experience with both startups and large technology enterprises, Kourey brings extensive hands-on expertise in leading strategy and execution for high-growth companies, including five successful IPOs (Okta, RingCentral, Aruba Networks, Riverbed and Polycom); and for over the past three years, he has served as Medallia's CFO. "The vast and unique experiences of our six-member advisory board perfectly equips Medallia to transform the overall citizen-to-government experience -- improving trust, transparency and service while driving savings in time and cost," said Leslie Stretch, CEO, Medallia. "Citizens have multiple touchpoints with government services every day and Medallia can significantly improve those touchpoints by making government better for all of us -- citizens, employees and agencies.
