Evite expands further into text message invites with Fête dealLOS ANGELES, Dec. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Evite, the leading digital service for bringing people together, today announced it has acquired rights to the assets of Fête, a mobile invitations start-up, in a move that will bolster Evite's recent text invitation launch. Launched in 2015, Fête is an iOS app that enables users to send invitations over text message, allowing guests to RSVP or collaborate to determine a date and place that works for everyone. As part of the agreement, Fête will be shutting down its services and inviting users to join Evite. "With this move, Evite can incorporate Fête's proprietary technology to augment our own leading digital invitation service, including the text invitation feature we rolled out earlier this year," said Victor Cho, Chief Executive Officer of Evite. "We look forward to leveraging Fête's insight to make it even more effortless to bring people together face-to-face." Evite recently launched its own SMS feature that allows hosts to invite guests via text message. User adoptin was instant, with over 1.2 million text invitations sent in the first month, and over 40,000 text invitations currently being sent daily across event categories, placing it well above all other stand-alone text invitation offerings and competitors (many of which have been in the market for years). "Evite's scale has made them a formidable competitor and a clear leader in the digital invitation space," said Fête co-founder Sanket Shah. "Fête is happy to have found a home at Evite, and we're thrilled to be a part of their incredible legacy and continued success." "Fête offered a compelling product vision and mission," added Cho, "but launching and sustaining a stand-alone invitation service can be extremely difficult, especially when going up against more established players in the industry." Additional Fête co-founders include Raj Parikh, John Dugan and Kushal Nigam. Investors in Fête include Maestral Solutions, who also served as a key development partner, Ricky Sharma, and others. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. About Evite (www.evite.com)
