Brightline Initiative Partners with TED

The Brightline™ Initiative, a non-commercial coalition dedicated to helping organizations bridge the gap between strategy design and strategy delivery, is partnering with TED, the nonprofit organization devoted to spreading ideas, on the event 'TEDNYC: How to Build the Future.'

Through this series of specially curated talks at TED headquarters in New York City, Brightline and TED will celebrate some of the world's most creative thinkers as they tackle the challenge of how to thrive in a world that seems to change every day. The evening event takes place Tuesday, October 17.

Brightline selected TED as its partner because of TED's long track record and leadership in convening conversations that offer audiences new lenses through which to view the world. As a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, TED's coverage of topics ranging from science to business to global issues now spans more than 110 languages.

Brightline leverages knowledge from leading organizations such as the Project Management Institute, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and the Agile (News - Alert) Alliance as well as research to help organizations advance their ability to deliver on strategic intent through shared best practices. A report by the Economist Intelligence Unit found that 90 percent of respondents admit they fail to reach all of their strategic goals becase they don't implement well, and 59 percent of senior executives surveyed admit that their organizations "often struggle to bridge the gap between strategy development and its practical, day-to-day implementation." [1]

Speakers at TEDNYC: How to Build the Future include:

  • Dao Nguyen, publisher at BuzzFeed, on how a world of big data can change the way we do business.
  • Bhu Srinivasan, author of Americana: A 400-Year History of American Capitalismon how modern innovators can explore the past to inform their future.
  • Amy Edmondson, professor at Harvard Business School, on how to build big teams that can tackle complex problems.
  • Scott Galloway, founder of L2, on how to understand -- and do business with -- the world's most powerful companies.
  • Matt Goldman, co-founder, Blue School & Blue Man Group, on how to prepare kids for an ever-changing world.
