The American Law Journal Legal Television Program Airs 20th Anniversary BroadcastSep 16, 2010 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- The American Law Journal (http://www.lawjournaltv.com) legal television program launches a new website and opens a third decade on the air Monday, September 20, 2010 on the Philadelphia CNN-News affiliate WFMZ-TV at 7:00pm with a one-hour retrospective. Attorneys, Judges and District Attorneys join host Christopher Naughton to discuss changes in the practice of law over the last twenty years. The panel also reviews excerpts from the program's coverage of key legal events including an extended live September 11, 2001 broadcast that predicted how the events of the day would impact civil liberties. Select footage of spirited debate between lawyers, judges, physicians, elected officials and others will be rolled into the program. Airing to Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware on the air and streaming live on WFMZ-TV69 (www.wfmz.com) the live anniversary broadcast highlights the twenty best programs over twenty years, including "Free Speech in the Town Square," "The O.J. Simpson Verdict: Trial of the Century?," "Wiretapping and The Constitution," "Eminent Domain: Can the Government Take My House?," "Antipsychotic Drugs and Suicide: The Medical-Legal Dilemma," "Workplace Privacy: Your Employer May Own Your E-Mail" and "The Kinder, Gentler Divorce." The legal television program touches on all areas of consumer and business law, and addresses Constitutional issues that affect viewers everyday. Broadcasts address the legal aspects of current events as they happen, most remembered was the September 11, 2001 broadcast. Host Naughton and attorney guests were on the set preparing for a program when general manager of the Philadelphia CNN-News affiliate asked if they could go live before and after President Bush's address to open the phone lines and discuss the events of the day with viewers. "People had been watching the twin towers come down all day and needed to talk about it," says Naughton. "For two hours, we talked to viewers who wanted to unburden themselves from the emotional trauma of the day. We forecast, surprisingly accurately, how our civil liberties might be affected." Legal television and communication has evolved to new media and cross-platform video to help people find a lawyer and translate legal events into everyday language. The American Law Journal's new website, www.LawJournalTV.com is newly designed to engage viewers as they seek legal help and information.
