Well known, big game tackle shop, Melton International Tackle hasn’t always been a top leader in the tackle industry. While in business school, Tracy Melton was actually assigned to create a fictitious business for a class project and came up with the idea for a range of jet head style trolling lures, now called the Melton Jet. After earning an A on his project, Melton was inspired to bring his business plan to life and started what is now known as Melton International Tackle.
 

Shop Development

Aftering opening, Melton started small and distributed a twelve-page catalog of hard to find, custom trolling lures along with a small selection of high end tackle. After a couple of years and mentoring from another tackle shop owner, Melton has developed one of the fastest growing big game tackle shops that exists in the world. In just Constantly outgrowing the building that was home to Melton International Tackle headquarters, the store is now located in Anaheim, CA (News - Alert) and is ideally located in Anaheim's "Tile Mile" home improvement district.

Products

In order to accommodate all of Melton International Tackle’s high end, world-class range of products, the current headquarters features a whopping 5,000 square foot showroom. The showroom highlights the wide variety of saltwater tackle products including the infamous Melton Jet, numerous rods and reels including Penn reels, lures, hooks and terminal tackle, and line and leader. Their website makes browsing or shopping online a breeze with their organized tabs that break down their products by type then subtype and can also be viewed by brand, for example Daiwa reels.

Melton International Tackle also sells an assortment of boating and kayaking equipment. Featured items like the Hobie Outback kayak is a top of the line, fully loaded fishing machine that was built for all fishing expeditions that includes turbo Kick-Up fins that automatically retract upon impact. After years of development, Melton has worked hard to ensure his shop is a one stop shop for all saltwater fishing needs.

To best accommodate all of Melton’s customers, Melton International Tackle also offers complimentary customer pickup/dropoff within the immediate area, along with tackle delivery for customers on the go. Online orders are also available to customers and utilizes the best technology to protect customer’s privacy and personal information.
