Is Mobile VoIP the Answer in Emerging Countries?

VoIP adoption continues to grow around the world, but despite its global nature, 90 percent of VoIP adoption comes from 10 countries in the developed world: in order, they are the United States, Japan, France, South Korea, Germany and China (tied), Brazil, the Netherlands, Canada and the UK, according to Point Topic. However, when it comes to the overall growth of VoIP services, the list changes; the top 10 counties in terms of VoIP growth rates include Lithuania, Puerto Rico, Poland, Ireland, Brazil, Romania, Slovenia, Estonia, Spain and the UK.



This is to be expected, as many of these markets have comparatively low starting points and will see higher-level growth rates than more established markets that have a larger embedded base. But despite growth in the above-mentioned markets, and the low cost of using VoIP services, VoIP adoption is slow in many emerging sectors around the world.
