GFI MAX Creates Ultra-Fast Online Backup Product

By Anamika Singh, TMCnet Contributor

GFI MAX, part of the GFI Software family and provider of a range of integrated software solutions built specifically for IT Support Companies, has announced the launch of its free-standing GFI MAX Backup, a new revenue opportunity for managed service providers (MSPs).

This new service allows MSPs to add secure data backup to the services they can offer customers, with rising demand for secure online backup.

GFI MAX Backup offers military-grade protection for customers’ data. It’s quick and easy to deploy, configure and manage from one central browser-based, access-anywhere management console.

The company also plans the acquisition of the Dutch online backup company IASO. The technology has been used within GFI MAX RemoteManagement and is a new, standalone version that allows MSPs who are not using GFI MAX RemoteManagement to benefit from the same technology used by MSPs all over the world.

GFI MAX Backup provides scalable and secure backups both to the cloud and to local storage on-site and removes the overhead and risk associated with managing removable media.

“Cloud-based backup is a natural addition to the portfolio of services that MSPs provide their customers,” said Dr. Alistair Forbes, general manager of the GFI MAX Business Unit.

“GFI MAX Backup removes the stress and hassle from on-premise backup solutions that require media handling to provide the off-site storage capability necessary for security and regulatory compliance and allows MSPs to increase their revenue by providing competitively-priced, highly-efficient, encrypted backup at a time when more and more customers look to adopt cloud services,” Forbes added.

Keeping natural disasters in mind, businesses are increasingly turning to online backup to protect their critical business assets. In addition to business continuity benefits, companies with cloud storage can better manage the cost and time needed for data recovery in times of need.

Tape backups are the conventional medium to use, but GFI MAX believes that using the Disk-to-Disk-to-Cloud (D2D2C) or a hybrid approach can be the solution. The technologies in GFI MAX Backup, including the unique True Delta and Local SpeedVault, deliver this hybrid approach, which leads to fast backups and secure data at the touch of a button.

Features of GFI MAX Backup include flexible deployment, automatically backing up multiple data types in the cloud, low bandwidth load, military grade capabilities, user file recovery, and multi-platform support .
