Vitelity Brings Innovation to Communications

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Vitelity Communications (News - Alert) has been busy testing interoperability with leading platforms and launching new products. The company announced early this year that its SIP trunking services are now interoperable with CudaTel’s IP PBX platform. It was around the same time that Vitelity ventured to Miami for ITEXPO (News - Alert) 2013 to introduce its latest innovations.

On the interoperability side, CudaTel is a provider of next-generation phone systems for the corporate environment. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Barracuda Networks (News - Alert), CudaTel provides next-generation business phone systems through the FreeSWITCH project.

This latest certification ensures that CudaTel customers will enjoy high quality and reliable voice communications thanks to Vitelity SIP trunking services. With CudaTel’s position in the market, Vitelity will be able to extend its reach and add more value to CudaTel’s current clients and their business phone systems.

At ITEXPO 2013 in Miami, TMCnet talked with Kerry Garrison (News - Alert), VP, Strategic Initiatives for Vitelity to find out what else the company has been up to. For those interested in speech-to-text technology, the company’s latest innovations may grab some attention.

The company’s MyScribbit is, “a voicemail transcription service that works over email so it will work with any PBX (News - Alert) that can do voicemail to email,” according to Garrison. The company used ITEXPO to launch this new service. Now the market will be able to access a transcription service without investing in the hardware to support the capability on the network.

Such a service is in such great demand and Vitelity is seeing a place for this service across multiple industries. “Think about the productivity enhancement you get by being able to read your voicemail,” noted Garrison. If a user doesn’t have to stop and listen to the white noise, pauses and other distractions in a voice message, they can move right to the action stage.

Those customers on the Vitelity hosted PBX platform will also benefit from the company’s launch of its VitalShield. “It really adds a valuable layer of security to the platform,” said Garrison. “It allows you to authenticate…and then gain access to the system.” In a market struggling with malicious online attacks and hackers, adding a protective layer to the voice platform is an important step.
