Exploring Enterprise, Service Provider, Customer Interaction and Mobility Solutions at ITEXPO Miami

By Rachel Ramsey, TMCnet Web Editor

In technology today, there’s a lot to keep up with. Innovations in trends from the cloud and M2M to VoIP and mobility update services and solutions every day, affecting enterprises, the customer experience, mobile communications and service providers.

ITEXPO is a bi-annual event that brings together technology and communications to buyers, sellers, resellers, manufacturers and company executives for a packed week of networking, exhibiting and discussing top trends. It’s happening this week in Miami, offering panel sessions, workshops and keynote presentations in addition to a busy exhibition floor.

To keep up with the vast amount of innovations, challenges and trends, there are four tracks for the conference: enterprise solutions, service provider solutions, mobility and CUSTOMER Interaction.

Enterprise Solutions

In order for organizations to address the growing needs of demanding applications that overpopulate the industry today, enterprise solutions are imperative for providing networks with the appropriate bandwidth and infrastructure to get the job done fast, efficiently and at the lowest cost possible. Enterprise solutions provide integrated services and complete product systems to address diverse needs across information technology, manufacturing operations and facilities management organizations. Hot topics in the enterprise solutions track at ITEXPO (News - Alert) include choosing between on-premises, cloud and hybrid solutions, unified communications and collaboration, audio quality in VoIP, costs of the cloud, performance management, enterprise video and WebRTC.

Service Provider Solutions

New capabilities and services are being developed and delivered to customers in multiple form factors on multiple screens, and developments like virtualization, WebRTC and CDNs further threaten the value of the network operator as a traditional service provider. Topics of discussion related to service provider solutions this week include unified communications adoption, collaboration, CSPs, software defined networking and small cells. ITEXPO also features a panel session titled, “The Future of Service Providers — Dumb Pipes or Global Leaders?” with Jason Collins of Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert), Steven Johnson of Ingate Systems, David Tipping of Sonus Networks, Craig Walker of Firespotter Labs/UberConference and David Walters of Sansay (News - Alert).

Mobility

The proliferation of mobile devices has led to a lot of adjustment for enterprises across all industries and how customers interact with companies. Mobile devices have enabled an always-connected, on-the-go and on-demand lifestyle that is affecting businesses and how they interact with customers. Topics of discussion this week in mobility trends include the risks and benefits of BYOD, mobile apps, securely mobilizing the workforce, delivering 4G expectations, voice-enabled applications, mobile unified communications and consumer demand for video across devices.

CUSTOMER Interaction

According to Tim Passios (News - Alert), senior director of Solutions Marketing, Interactive Intelligence, 2013 appears to be the bellwether year for all things customer-focused. Included in this week’s presentations and sessions on the customer experience include customer experiences in the contact center, how the customer experience defines your brand, customer engagement and loyalty, call-to-action, mobile virtual agents, big data, social media and more.

The entire conference agenda can be found here. There’s a lot to take advantage of this week in many areas of technology, so make sure you don’t miss out.
