nGenx Prepares for ITEXPO Miami 2013 and Talks BYOD

By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor

Well known in the technology space for its desktop and application virtualization offers, nGenx (News - Alert) boats an array of cloud-based services that partners and customers can leverage from nearly any application and any device at any time as well as from anywhere with a reliable Internet connection. Mobility is no longer seen as an option, instead being demanded by global workforces in order to complete time sensitive tasks and remain productive while on-the-go.

As mobile employees continue to grow by the day as the temperatures take a drastic downward tailspin here on the East Coast, nGenx truly understands that along with this trend BYOD is gaining relevance. In fact, bring your own device (BYOD) strategies are being utilized by many companies as way to cut costs while simultaneously enabling people to leverage the device they feel most comfortable with for both business and personal use.

Recently, nGenx’s President and CEO, Bob Bye told TMCnet in an exclusive interview, “BYOD is here to stay and is going to become increasingly prevalent in the coming year. Empowering your workforce with a BYOD policy enables the mobility and flexibility modern businesses demand. nGenx enables our customers to implement a BYOD policy and we employ a BYOD policy ourselves.”

And while BYOD is certainly revolutionizing the business landscape for the better, Desktop-as-a-Service, better known by its acronym DaaS, is enabling employees to work effectively with all required line business applications from any device; anywhere they have an Internet connection.

“Coupled with a BYOD policy, SMBs can cut significant costs by avoiding on-premises servers as well as large periodic hardware and software costs,” Bye added. “Employees relish the ability to work remotely and utilize flex time as well as the capability to access any application they need from any device.”

For those firms who have yet to transition to a BYOD plan of action due to a myriad of security-related issues, Bye recommends leveraging a BYOD policy in conjunction with the nGenx DaaS solution in order to eliminate the security concerns associated with setting up a mobile or telecommuting workforce. This is due to the fact that the company’s locked-down environment is also password protected, so lost or stolen devices don’t negatively affect your business, Bye told TMCnet.

According to the company’s website, its nFinity Basic Desktop is easy to use but boasts effective HTML5 operability, core desktop functionality, user customization, and access to productivity apps as well as some nFinity Apps. On the other hand, the nFinity Advanced Desktop is a robust and fully functional desktop with user customization features, streaming video capabilities, advanced productivity tools, and full access to nFinity Apps.

Since it was established in 2000, nGenx has been looked upon as a thought leader in areas like cloud computing and has formed key partnerships over the years with major companies such as Microsoft, Citrix, Google and Intuit (News - Alert). With the goal of remaining on the edge of technological innovation, the desktop and application virtualization provider is packing its bags and heading to ITEXPO (News - Alert) Miami 2013, taking place from January 29 to February 1 in Miami, Fla. At the not-to-miss event, Bye will be speaking during the panel titled, “Cloud Costs You Can Count On: Understanding the Economics of the Cloud” on Wednesday, January 30 from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. He will be joined by industry leaders Richard Hathaway, RLH Telecom Solutions, LLC; Hector Hernandez, IBM (News - Alert); Brian Vandergrift, Venyu; and Moderator Michael Vizard.

If you are looking for a little fun in the sun where after the conference you can walk away with a plethora of vital knowledge as well as a great tan, be sure to book your trip to Miami right now!
