New RIS Web Portal Apollo Helps Vendors Identify ICT Partners

By Colleen Lynch, TMCnet Contributor

Retail Info Systems (RIS) has created a new Web portal, the first of its kind, enables information communications technology (ICT) vendors to gain access to their business critical partners, as well as their channel data.

The new service is called Apollo, and gives vendors the ability to run their own searches on channel partners.

The database RIS developed for the Web portal was researched independently by RIS, and the company’s hard work is evident. With over 6,500 profiles of the top ICT channel partners all across the Asia-Pacific, the database represents 85-90 percent of the “indirect” ICT products and services supplied in the entire region.

“Historically, vendors looking to identify channel partners had to rely on distributors to assist them, or embark on their own expensive and usually inefficient service,” explained Gary Kinsley, managing director at RIS.

Apollo gives multiple data points within each individual channel partner, allowing vendors access to almost unlimited search options and data variables.

“With over 2,400 unique vendors delivering products to market through the ‘channel’ in Asia-Pacific, the various channel partner types, classifications, services and market focuses can make it extremely difficult to identify, recruit, engage, enable and develop the optimal channels model,” added Kinsley.

As economic growth is stunted in the United States and Europe, Asia is the preferred region for development, especially in India, China and ASEAN.

With RIS’s Apollo solution, the ICT industry can now initiate strong growth focused in the Asia-Pacific region, and the process is infinitely easier, allowing companies to save significant amounts of both time and money--the effects of the RIS Web portal will be immediately clear, moving forward.

“Whether a vendor is already selling in Asia or wanting to sell here, Apollo can help them identify the most suitable partners to assist them in driving market coverage,” Kinsley concluded.
