RealLinx Prepares for Change in Businesses, as Well as ITEXPO

By Robbie Pleasant, TMCnet Contributor

These past few years have seen great change in the business world, from the way we communicate to the tools used for it. Gabriel Diaz, president and founder of RealLinx Inc., has noticed these trends and changes, and is prepared to share his experiences at the upcoming ITEXPO (News - Alert).

RealLinx’s customers tend to be from small and mid-sized businesses, which also happen to be those adopting new technologies the quickest. They’ve found that with the available tools such as video, cloud services and so on, they can compete with large enterprises on a more even ground.

“SMB has historically been a very conservative segment that prefers tried and true technology,” notes Diaz. “However, this year, we’ve definitely seen noticeable change in the way decisions are made and the focus towards new technologies.”

Of course, this means good things for RealLinx (News - Alert), which has been getting great feedback on its video service. Video is being adopted and used more than ever, thanks to its uses for communication, and RealLinx customers have been enjoying the benefits from its video service.

There are still changes yet to come. For example, the recent Apple (News - Alert)-Samsung patent case will have quite the impact on technology designs. Now that Apple has a patent on a rectangular design with rounded corners, we just might have to start looking at round or hexagonal smartphones.

“On the positive side, protection towards design and functionality will drive innovation and ensure the market is not filled with copycat products,” Diaz explained. “On the negative side, it could create a tremendous amount of obstacles from an engineering perspective, where new product development costs may be affected because of the need to ensure that there are no patent violations.“

Still, there’s no knowing what the future holds, so the smartest thing to do is prepare. For that, Diaz suggests looking to qualified parties for advice. After all, who better to talk about the future of the industry than those whose jobs depend on it?

“Focus on the publications that provide information about the latest technologies for small and medium business,” he advised. “Seek peer advice through member organizations.”

Gabriel Diaz (News - Alert) will be at the upcoming ITEXPO, where he’s looking forward to meeting and speaking with many of RealLinx’s customers. Attendees will get the opportunity to really see what the company has built over the years, and learn what RealLinx can do for them.

As for his own predictions for the future of technology? “Faster, simpler, less expensive platforms that create building blocks for successful business.”
