Whaleback Managed Services President & CEO Karil Reibold to Speak at ITEXPO Austin

By Amanda Ciccatelli, TMCnet Web Editor

Businesses today are becoming more and more virtual, which means a business or its workers are not confined to one physical office; the business might be running with many decentralized elements, most of which exist only online. Unified communications (UC) offers a technological architecture where communication tools are integrated so that businesses and individuals can manage all their communications in one entity instead of separately. Ultimately, UC bridges the gap between VoIP and other computer related communication technologies, providing better control over important features.

Today, Whaleback Managed Services, a provider of managed UC services, unveiled that its President and CEO Karil Reibold will participate in two panel sessions at ITEXPO (News - Alert) Austin 2012, one of the world's largest communications and technology events held October 2-5 in Austin, Texas.

At ITEXPO, the entire communications and technology community join together for one week of business-building and researching today’s powerful communications solutions. The conference is filled with enterprise, government and SMB end users, resellers, service providers, manufacturers, developers, media and analysts who join to examine solutions in conference sessions, demo products and services and create new relationships.

Whaleback Managed Services provides cloud-based managed UC services to small and medium enterprises with single and multi-site environments. The company’s end-to-end, business-class voice services enhance productivity and reduce expenses by offering flexible VoIP calling packages, centralized monitoring and management, as well as high quality customer service.

The first panel session that Reibold will participate in, “Financial Models and Economics for Expanding VoIP Services” on Thursday, October 4 at 1:00 pm, will discuss how expanding the footprint, adding a new service, or entering a new market requires very careful planning for VoIP operators. This session will detail the total investment, including the payback and ROI, and the risks of expanding VoIP Services. The discussion will consider high level business models for introducing new services like wholesale termination, SIP trunking, and Hosted PBX (News - Alert) services, using engineering methods and financial estimates.

Reibold will also participate in the session, “Today's Service Provider - More Than Just SIP Trunks” on Friday, October 5, at 9:00 am, which will discuss how service providers are evolving and continuously offer a range of UC services. So, providers and their resellers can provide more complete communications solutions to customers such as SMS messaging, Fax, Shortcode Messaging, Colocation Hosting, and even Cloud-based IP PBX systems. This session will discuss what these additional revenue generating services are, and how you can package them effectively for maximum profitability.

With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, Reibold has helped companies define their organization strategy in order to achieve results that drive stakeholder value. In 2008, she joined Whaleback Managed Services as CEO and President and has since increased revenue for 16 consecutive quarters, established Whaleback's best-in-class managed service, broadened the service offering and improved margins by over 110 percent.

Additionally, Reibold’s work as an Executive in Residence at Norwest Venture Partners allowed her to work with venture-backed companies to define the right market strategy, build the right team and be successful in the marketplace. In Reibold’s role as COO with S&R Precision, she increase revenue from $12 million to $70 million in just 2 1/2 years by looking at all pieces of the business separately and reassembling them to create a successful company.
