Will the Partnership Between Core DataCloud and VirtualSharp Deliver the RaaS Solution We Need for Efficient Recoveries?

By David Gitonga, TMCnet Contributing Writer

Core DataCloud has gone forth and secured its new Recovery-as-a-Service (RaaS) solution for SMBs with VirtualSharp’s ReliableDR product. This solution from VirtualSharp will enable SMBs to protect their critical vSphere virtualized applications and deliver service level agreements.

ReliableDR is one of the companies that powers automated disaster recovery solutions for private and public clouds. It works by ensuring conversion of Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) into ‘Actuals’ (RPA/RTA) while enabling organizations to guarantee acquiescence with corporate Business Continuity policies.

The popularity of the RaaS model will heavily draw on these benefits coupled with the offered low beginners cost and a pay-as-you-go monthly pricing model. This may stand to confirm projections that the RaaS model will be at home with about 30 percent of the midsize companies and enterprises by the year 2014.

"We are delighted that Core DataCloud has chosen ReliableDR to deliver their new recovery platform," said Carlos Escapa, co-founder and CEO of VirtualSharp. He went on to give his opinion about the current market demand for hosted RaaS solutions. He said, "There is an increasing need for hosted Recovery-as-a-Service solutions in the marketplace, with particularly smaller and mid-size companies having the ability to leverage the sophistication of enterprise-class clouds without prohibitive, upfront capital investments."

An equally delighted Sharad Saggar, the CEO of Core DataCloud, believes that the partnership will allow the company to offer innovative RaaS solutions and said, “We have built our reputation on delivering enterprise-class RPO and RTO to the mid market, and VirtualSharp's Recovery Assurance technology provides a major differentiator for us as we prepare to expand further."

To us the client, the partnership is a solution that will ensure the safety of our apps and data in the cloud. CoreCloud’s platform will provide rapid recovery of affected servers and data, a functionality whose efficiency is only expected to improve courtesy of the continuous automated certification of the recoverability of services running in the cloud.
