Dell SonicWall Leverages Power of Dell to Deliver Next Generation Network Security Solutions

At a recent TMC road show in San Jose, Calif., TMC CEO Rich Tehrani (News - Alert) invited Dell SonicWall’s director of product management Dmitriv Ayrapetov to TMC news room to talk about latest developments after the acquisition of network security provider SonicWall.



In addition, the TMC CEO was interested in knowing about the new kinds of security products that would emerge from the company as part of Dell (News - Alert).

In addition, the TMC CEO was interested in knowing about the new kinds of security products that would emerge from the company as part of Dell.

Ayrapetov was quick to mention that Sonicwall acquisition was completed few months ago. And it is now expanding with next generation firewalls, as well as developing new. However, to make this acquisition successful, the challenge is now to educate Dell’s large sales force about these new products, said Ayrapetov. Plus, he added, Dell’s large base of partners were also being educated and trained about SonicWall products.

Meanwhile, in last couple of months Dell SonicWall next-generation firewalls have earned high recognition from three of the industry’s most influential third-party evaluators. According to the maker, it provides independent validation for IT administrators who are looking for the best performing security solutions for their modern corporate network and deployment scenarios. In the NSS Labs 2012 Security Value Map (SVM) for Next-Generation Firewalls, the Dell SonicWall SuperMassive E10800 was rated as the highest overall protection next-generation firewall. The developer said that the E10800 was also the winner of Network World’s (News - Alert) 2012 next-generation firewall Clear Choice Performance test, leading the way in application detection and decrypting SSL traffic at up to 4.9 Gbps.

Similarly, in July, ICSA Labs also tested the Dell SonicWALL (News - Alert) E-Class network security appliance series and announced that these firewalls were the first appliances to meet all of the ICSA Labs next-generation firewall evaluation requirements and received the ICSA Labs Enterprise Firewall Certification.

Regarding upcoming new products from the security firm, Ayrapetov told Tehrani that his company was improving firmware, as well as hardware and adding new features to upcoming next-generation security products.
