Plantronics Helps the Enterprise Customer Connect with Employees

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor
There's the old saying that bigger is better, yet today's manufacturers are trying to fit a lot of technology into smaller packages. A number of telephone products fit this mold, including headsets for both computers and Bluetooth. For years, Plantronics (News - Alert) has been setting the bar high for these products in the office environment, but has recently entered the general headset market. And, while the company's Voyager line of Bluetooth headsets has been popular for several years, it is known for its size.

This offering is more of the traditional big and
bulky headset, with positioning really focused on functionality. The Voyager Pro HD, for example, has many more benefits to offer versus the other guy’s small and sleek option. And it retails for about $99.

This headset happens to be the top performer on the market right now in terms of sound quality and audio. Plantronics specifically created the Voyager Pro HD for users who are on-the-go and need to focus. Whether it's on the road in a busy coffee shop or other
noisy environment, this headset has a special noise cancellation feature that keeps getting better.

Another added bonus is the battery life. Compared to other headsets, Plantronics allows users to listen to an entire podcast or long calls with little concern on whether or not the battery is going to go dead. And if it does, the headset's battery, a Micro-USB input, is easy and quick to charge. Plus, there is an on-screen meter for the iPhone (News - Alert)
and Android 3.0 smart phones that helps measure battery life.

As a leader in unified communications headsets, Plantronics' devices are able to eliminate any accidental dialing. The headsets allow users to lock down the
call button any time the headset is not being worn. Users can easily stream music and podcasts with the option to pause the audio for incoming or outgoing calls, and it stops the feed process when the headset is taken off.

The Vocalyst feature gives users the triple tap option to connect with the voice and text service or the MyHeadset app that gives users all the tools, tips and tricks they need. While this only works with Android (News - Alert)
phones right now, new platforms just may be in future plans.

If the functionality and usability of the Voyager Pro HD isn’t enough, the Plantronics' customer service is worth a look. An online reviewer actually had a problem with the microphone component and its audio quality. The customer was able to get the product replaced by the company, at no additional cost, immediately with just a note of the problem and the receipt.

Amy Huson, senior director of Enterprise Marketing for Plantronics recently shared, “What customers are telling us is they use a combination of products. What they really need us to do is help them connect with their employees.”Huson recently joined Rich Tehrani (News - Alert) i
n the TMC newsroom in San Jose, Calif. To catch their entire conversation, check out the full video below.
