Just When You Thought You Knew What Kind of People Used Twitter

By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor

Let’s be honest, when you think of social media website phenomenon Twitter (News - Alert), you typically don’t picture the Baby Boomer Generation using it, right? You might want to alter your opinion a little because a grandmother from Staten Island, N.Y. recently revealed that she had one very important goal in mind that she wants to reach before her time on this Earth expires—and that is to gain 80,000 followers on Twitter.

Yes, you read that paragraph right, I said 80,000 followers. Actually, that number was not chosen randomly, instead it was chosen because Josephine Lamberti, also known as J-Dimples is 80 years young.

According to a recent article on People magazine’s website, her dream is not that far away as she already has an impressive 67,000 followers that are comprised of multiple celebrities including Orlando Bloom’s wife Miranda Kerr, Jason Segel, Rihanna and Khloe Kardashian.

Revealing that her main hobbies consist of dancing and cooking meatballs, Lamberti definitely has some swag and in the past has even posted pictures of herself completely covered in fake tattoos. She also is extremely found of her monogrammed "J-Dimps" headband and a shirt with the caption "Everybody Loves a Player".

If you are wondering if this granny has lost her mind or she is just extremely cool, let J-Dimples sum it up for you: "I'm 80yrs old and bleed #OLDladySWAG What ya gonna do about it? How can ya NOT follow my sexy 80 yr old dimples?” she recently stated via her Twitter account.

It seems as if the site continues to attract all types of audience, the company is rapidly expanding. And just last week, TMCnet reported that Twitter will be opening a new office in downtown Detroit at the M@dison Building, which is owned by Rock Ventures LLC.

The new location will enable the company to assist organizations in the immediate area to better leverage its site to see success.
