Disaster recovery gives VARs chance to unite

(Computer Reseller News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Two resellers have joined forces to grab a larger slice of the booming disaster recovery market. Business continuity specialist NDR has teamed up with Northamptonshire-based acs to pool resources and expertise on specific disaster recovery projects. Although ACS offers a number of services, such as a full furniture and interiors service, structured and wireless data/voice cabling and software licensing, sales director Dan Harding explained the firm cannot afford to ignore the opportunities around disaster recovery. The recent floods (CRN, 30 July) have focused minds on the need for good planning and disaster recovery among businesses, Harding added. "Keeping our customers up and running is our main priority,"he said. "This relationship with NDR really allows us to safeguard our customers' businesses for every eventuality." The deal will enable NDR to expand its range of services offered and widen its client base. NDR is part of the Phoenix IT Group and has launched a major incident team to help businesses suffering after the flooding. The VAR hosts a number of business recovery centres where customers can relocate their staff in the event of any denial of access to their premises. Dennis Thomas, managing director of NDR, said: "It is clear ACS knows the technical requirements of businesses and is successful in meeting them." ACS office solutions targets education market
