Deeplocal Announces Two Executive Promotions: Jakob Marsico to Chief Technology Officer and Lauren Kardos to Chief Financial Officer - Doubling Down on Physical Experiences in a Digitally Dominated World

Award-winning creative technology and experience design agency Deeplocal has promoted Jakob Marsico to Chief Technology Officer and Lauren Kardos to Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Under their leadership, Deeplocal will continue to invent and deliver innovative, tangible, human-first experiences for brands around the world. In addition, they will oversee an expansion of the agency's research and development practice as well as expanding its client roster. Amidst rapid technological advancements, polycrisis, economic uncertainty, and evolving consumer expectations, Deeplocal is steadfast in its commitment to building physical world experiences that promote playfulness, evoke joy, and drive meaningful connections.

With Jakob Marsico's promotion to Deeplocal's leadership team, he will have expanded oversight of Deeplocal's multidisciplinary team of creative technologists, designers, and engineers. He will also oversee the research and development of Deeplocal's creative technology capabilities to provide clients with cutting-edge expertise and build valuable, impactful brand experiences. Says Jakob about the role: "I am incredibly excited to step into the role of CTO at Deeplocal. We're living in a wild moment in history where technology is evolving incredibly fast and is more intertwined in our lives than we could have imagined only a few years ago. Our team, with its weird blend of creativity and technicality, is perfectly positiond to play with, within, and against this nuanced intersection."

Lauren Kardos' promotion to the leadership team and wealth of experience - including DTC consumer goods, MLM, media, crypto, and B2B and B2C SaaS - will guide Deeplocal's long-term financial stability as the company expands its client list into new industry sectors including entertainment, sports, gaming, and consumables. Says Lauren about the role: "To have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most innovative, smart, and creative minds is truly humbling. I find it extraordinary that such a small and scrappy team is consistently being asked to bring vision to reality for the biggest brands in the world. As we begin 2024 and continue to build IRL physical experiences in an increasingly tech-driven world, I am encouraged and excited with the chance to make a deeper imprint across retail, nonprofit, and commercial spaces this year."

"With the addition of both Jake and Lauren to our executive leadership, we mark an era of huge transformation for Deeplocal," said Founder, Nathan Martin. "Jake brings a deep passion for the work we do and the magic that technology, when viewed critically, can bring to the human experience. Lauren has a rich background in startups and VC and brings an entrepreneurial perspective to our financial management. Together, both represent a move to a more strategic and future-looking Deeplocal. I'm so excited for this next step as a team."

In addition to expanding its presence in New York City and remote team coast-to-coast, Deeplocal maintains its headquarters in the Sharpsburg neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA, and last year expanded its footprint to over 55,000 square feet of production and playtesting space.
