NYU Honors Ryan Global President and COO with Paul H. Frankel Award

DALLAS, Dec. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Ryan, a leading global tax services and software provider, announced today Ginny B. Kissling, global president and chief operating officer, has been awarded the NYU School of Professional Studies Paul H. Frankel Award for Outstanding Achievement in State and Local Taxation (SALT), in honor of her "unparalleled contributions in all areas of state and local taxation."

The Paul H. Frankel Award will be presented at the New York University's 37th Institute on State and Local Taxation, Monday, Dec. 17 and Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the Grand Hyatt in New York City. This year's event will focus on the year's most important state and local tax developments from a national perspective, and the most important professional challenges and ethical dilemmas reshaping the profession.

"The NYU School of Professional Studies brings together America's most advanced thinkers in the industry to discuss current trends about state and local taxation. This conference allows us all to learn from those insights and bring new tax solutions to our clients everywhere," said Kissling. "To be honored by an academic organization leading change in this industry is truly humbling."

New York University's Institute on State and Local Taxation Advisory Board since 2007. Following her initial involvement with the board, she helped develop the conference's talk-show format Q&A session. The session, which provides the event's closing workshop every year, features notable tax leaders answering challenging questions with Kissling acting as moderator. Earlier in her career, she was invited to join the NYU Advisory Board by Frankel personally.

"For a man with his esteemed distinction to notice my work and growth in this industry at an early age in my career felt like being picked out of a crowd," continued Kissling. "Paul was a pioneer both in SALT and the tax industry as a whole. It is an honor to have known him, learned from him, and called him a friend."

The NYU School of Professional Studies created the award to honor Paul Frankel, an esteemed state and local tax attorney, known for his litigation on many transformative state tax cases. He was Chairman Emeritus of the Institute and a member of the Advisory Board.

"We are thrilled to bestow upon Ginny Kissling this year's NYU School of Professional Studies Paul H. Frankel Award for Outstanding Achievement in State and Local Taxation," said Martin Ihrig, associate dean and clinical professor of the NYUSPS Division of Programs in Business. "Her contributions in all areas of state and local tax, combined with her many volunteer efforts, make her the perfect recipient for this prestigious industry award."
