Glassdoor Reveals 25 Highest Paying Jobs In America For 2018MILL VALLEY, Calif., Aug. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Glassdoor, one of the world's largest job and recruiting sites, today announced the results of its newest jobs report identifying the 25 Highest Paying Jobs in America for 2018.1 Considering that nearly seven in ten (67 percent) job seekers and workers say that salary is a key piece of information they hone in on when researching jobs, according to a recent Glassdoor survey, this report helps people better understand which jobs pay the highest salaries. Thirteen of Glassdoor's 25 Highest Paying Jobs in America for 2018 are tech jobs, more than any other profession and up from 11 in 2017. There are five health care jobs on the list, down from six in 2017, including the top three, Physician (No. 1, $195,842), Pharmacy Manager (No. 2, $146,412) and Pharmacist (No. 3, $127,120). Eight job titles are new this year, including Strategy Manager (No. 18, $101,754), Cloud Engineer (No. 23, $96,449) and Data Scientist (No. 25, $96,116). Nurse Practitioner (No. 9, $106,962) has the highest number of current job openings with 14,931 positions. "The fact that employers are paying top dollar for many tech and health care jobs reinforces how demand for these valuable skillsets continues to outpace the supply of talent with these expertises," said Glassdoor Economic Research Analyst Amanda Stansell. "We know that salary matters a lot to job seekers when determining where to work, but it should not be the only factor to consider. We've found that company culture and values, career opportunities and trust in senior leadership matter most when it comes to keeping employees satisfied in their jobs long-term." The number of job openings per job title represents active job listings on Glassdoor as of 7/19/18. This report takes into account job title normalization that groups similar job titles.
