Samsung Devices Achieve Approval from the U.S. Department of DefenseSamsung Electronics America, Inc., announced that the Galaxy S9, S8 and Note8 on Android (News - Alert) 8.0 Oreo have been added to the Approved Products List (APL) for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). In order to achieve this approval, Samsung (News - Alert) worked with several standards bodies to ensure that its devices adhere to the needs of the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP), through the Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation as set by the Defense Information Security Agency (DISA). In addition to completing the Common Criteria evaluation, Samsung worked with DISA to produce the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) necessary for deployment within the DoD.
