For the 12th Time, Commonwealth Financial Network® Named a Best Place to Work in Technology

For the 12th consecutive year, Commonwealth Financial Network® has been ranked one of the Best Places to Work in IT by Computerworld. Commonwealth is honored to be ranked the No. 5 firm to work for among small organizations (defined as having fewer than 1,000 U.S. employees) in the U.S.

In addition to naming Commonwealth one of the top firms to work for in New England, the reputable technology publication gave the firm a nationwide ranking of No. 8 for career development and No. 10 for training-areas critical for an employer to ensure a supportive environment and meaningful careers for its employees.

The Best Places to Work in IT list is an annual ranking of the top 100 work environments for technology professionals by Computerworld. The list is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, training, and retention. In addition, responses to extensive surveys of IT workers factor heavily in determining the rankings.

"For 12 years in a row, Commonwealth has been recognized as a leading company to work for by technology professionals, and we are as honored today as we were in 2007," said Darren Tedesco, managing principal, innovation and strategy. "To be named to this list year after year speaks to our steadfast commitment in hiring the very best people, who in turn help provide our affiliated financial advisors with the innovative, intuitive, and integrated solutios their businesses and clients depend on."

"Commonwealth's technology team is mission critical to providing seamless support throughout our organization and to our 1,800 affiliated advisors' offices across the nation," said Wayne Bloom, CEO of Commonwealth. "We consider our technology a top priority and a competitive advantage, and we take great pride in maintaining this annual recognition that speaks to our commitment and demonstrated success."

Bloom added, "Central to such success is not only our deep bench of technology professionals-more than 250 and counting-but also the collective efforts of the 43 departments that make up Commonwealth, the nation's largest privately held Registered Investment Adviser-independent broker/dealer. I thank each and every individual for their dedication and contributions to the Commonwealth community."

In all, Commonwealth has been recognized 39 times as a "Best Place to Work" by top publications, including the Boston Globe, Boston Business Journal, San Diego Business Journal, Union-Tribune San Diego, and Computerworld.
