iQor Takes Leadership Role in CTIA Wireless Reverse Logistics Initiative

iQor (News - Alert), a global managed services provider embedded in the flow between product, people and services, today announced that it has joined the Reverse Logistics & Service Quality (RLSQ) Leadership Council of CTIA, a trade organization that represents the US wireless communications industry and partners with GSMA (News - Alert) to sponsor the annual Mobile World Congress Americas.

As one of the largest product support companies in the world, iQor has long been a leader in innovative, data-driven reverse logistics and supply chain management-including returns, repairs, recycling, tech support, fulfillment and all the other activities that happen post-sale. In addition, iQor provides a unique 360-degree integrated service to leading technology brands by delivering full lifecycle customer service solutions.

CTIA's (News - Alert) distinguished cross-industry panel comprises 47 member companies, which include all major OEMs and US carriers along with key retailers, suppliers, service providers and other wireless stakeholders. Its mission is to establish industry-recognized standards, certifications and best practices for the wireless device repair channel. To help accomplish its goals, it will have oversight of five working groups: Grading Scales, Tech Training, Service Facility, Parts Validation and Retail & Mobile Service xcellence.

"Ninety-five percent of Americans own a cellphone or smartphone, and about half of US households are wireless only," says Larry Worden, iQor's vice president of global operations, overseeing mobile, IoT and connected devices. "When these devices fail, life shuts down. The explosive growth in the Internet of Things, plus the 5G technology revolution on the horizon, will only make them more indispensable. Consumers need to know their devices will be restored to top performance and back in their hands right away."

iQor repairs more than 20 million products a year, including smartphones, tablets and laptops, maintaining a Better-Than-New standard. "iQor is committed to maximizing product lifecycles through refurbishment, reuse and environmentally responsible recycling," Worden says. "Through our customer service operations, we can also offer the industry a more holistic view of the customer and product experience. We're pleased to work towards raising the industry bar for aftermarket standards of excellence."
