With Launch of Order Set Advisor, Provation Enables Real-Time Order Set Optimization

Provation today announced the launch of Order Set Advisor™, a content gap analysis feature within its Provation® Order Sets solution. Intelligent and actionable, Order Set Advisor drives more effective clinical decisions and consistent patient outcomes by leveraging Provation's evidence-based rule sets to optimize the order set update process.

Order Set Advisor fills an important need in hospitals by addressing the complex organizational challenge of maintaining evidence-based order sets. A survey of U.S. healthcare executives conducted by Modern Healthcare on behalf of Provation found that updating evidence is a laborious and time-consuming process that takes, on average, more than two months to complete. It's a process that few executives (7%) describe as "very efficient," which indicates substantial opportunity for improvement.

Order Set Advisor represents a powerful combination of innovative technologies and expertise from Provation. It identifies gaps wthin existing order sets, promoting alignment with the latest evidence-based clinical content by leveraging an intelligent mapping tool. Order Set Advisor then presents actionable recommendations for web-based review, collaboration and approval.

"Order Set Advisor delivers significant clinical, economic and compliance benefits by streamlining the order set management process to ensure that clinicians have access to the most current clinical decision support when and where it's needed," said David A. Del Toro, President and CEO of Provation. "Order Set Advisor helps hospitals and health systems better achieve their clinical and financial goals and objectives."
