A'Very Special Night of Dance - A Benefit to Honor a Friend and Support Pediatric Cancer Research

Avery Dudasch succumbed to a brain tumor at the tender age of 11. A benefit in her memory supporting pediatric cancer research - A'Very Special Night of Dance - will be held at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center on April 8, with 100 percent of the proceeds being donated to The Morgan Adams Foundation for childhood cancer research and therapies.

"I lost my friend and wanted to honor her and her family while contributing to the fight against cancer," said Hayden Hilles, childhood friend of Avery Dudasch. "Dance has always been a part of my life and is a passion I shared with Avery. We attended numerous dance events and concerts together, with Taylor Swift (News - Alert) as one of our favorite performers. Swift's 'Fearless' became Avery's mantra during trying times and one of my most cherished memories of Avery is how she has inspired me to live my life fearlessly."

A'Very Special Night of Dance will feature the following prominent choreographers and dance companies:

  • Lauren Lovette and Barton Cowperthwaite
  • Breton-Tyner Bryan
  • Jackie Nowicki
  • Brice Mousset
  • Peridance Contemporary Dance Company
  • Emily Greenwell
  • Kenichi Kasamatsu
  • Emily Bufferd
  • Hannah Frederick
  • Michaela McGowan
  • Bekah Joy Howard
  • The Teen Company
  • Broadway Dance Center's Arts in Motion (AIM)

"We are so grateful to Hayden Hilles and the Dudasch family for sharing their time and their stories to make a difference in the lives of others," said Joan Slaughter, founder and executive director of The Morgan Adams Foundation. "We are also grateful to the talented choreographers and dancers who are artists, innovators, and philanthropists."
