Invaluable Hosts Auction to Save the Rhinos

Invaluable, the world's leading online marketplace for fine art, antiques and collectibles, is hosting the Love the Last Art Auction, a global effort by renowned Australian artists Gillie and Marc Schattner to raise awareness and save the planet's Rhinos from devastating poaching.

The award-winning artists created The Last Three, a 16-foot high sculpture of the earth's last remaining Northern White Rhinos, rendered in bronze and stacked vertically, in the New York City's East Village in January. The three magnificent animals, 45-year-old Sudan and his infertile daughter Najin and granddaughter Fatu, today live on a protected preserve in Kenya.

The artists are now moving ahead with plans for a second edition of the sculpture in Australia, where they live and work. They have received the green light from the City of Melbourne and St. Kilda Beach to install it at St. Kilda.

Proceeds from the Love the Last Art Auction, on www.invaluable.com on March 27th, will fund the creation and installation of this second edition of the original artwork, which is the world's largest Rhino sculpture. Production is already underway, the artists said, but the project will not be possible without funding from the auction.

Gillie and Marc will auction off their entire portfolio of Rhino and animal art from the past 10 years - including iconic original paintings, sculptures, drawing, prints, and housewares. Each purchase will include a free limited-edition print, valued at more than $750. Not only will buyers be getting beautiful award-winning art - they'll also be helping save the Rhinos. The world has already lost Northern White Rhinos to imminent extinction, and the artists are determined to keep history from repeating itself.

"All we care about right now is getting the second edition of The Last Three installed ASAP," said Gillie. "We're just looking to cover creation costs, and to achieve this, we're giving away our favorite pieces for unbelievable deals!"

Bids can be placed now or during the live auction.
