FLUX: Trans and Gender Non-Conforming Advocacy Group to Celebrate First Anniversary with Gala Event at WeHo's Sur Restaurant & Lounge March 9th

FLUX, a division of AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) dedicated to creating safe spaces for trans and gender non-conforming individuals, will host the kickoff event of their first ever annual summit at Sur Restaurant & Lounge in Los Angeles, CA (News - Alert), on March 9^th, 2018 starting at 8:00pm. The event will celebrate a successful first year for the group marking the anniversary of their launch in March 2017. FLUX has been raising awareness, increasing visibility, providing support and giving a voice to trans and gender non-conforming individuals through events such as these throughout the year.

"It is exciting to see that in just in its first year, FLUX has changed the narrative for trans folks; we are creating space that should have been there long ago," says Queen Victoria Ortega, Chair of FLUX. Notable events from the past year include:

• March 11 - Official FLUX Launch at NeueHouse, Los Angeles, CA.
  • 200 people attended.
  • Laith Ashley (trans model and singer) debuted his single Can't Wait.
  • FLUX unveiled the Inside Out Campaign featuring 12 professional trans people who contribute to society through their careers.
• June 2017 - Launch of Trans Talk Series
  • Launched in Collaboration with National Geographic and Katie Couric.
  • Trans Talk launched as a series of panel discussions to raise the profile of trans people.
• November 2017 - Launch of "I am…" Video Campaign and Billboards
  • Included series of video vignettes covering Transition, parent/child relationships, and the resilience of the trans community.
  • Laith Ashley and Billie Lee were featured.

This event is a prime example of the way FLUX works to create inclusive spaces that celebrate the diversity and unity of their members. Television personality, Billie Lee, along with other cast members of the popular show Vanderpump Rules will be in attendance along with notable male trans singer Laith Ashley.
