MobileTogether 4.1 Delivers on Developer Requests - and Then Some

BEVERLY, Mass., Feb. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Altova® (https://www.altova.com) announced the release of version 4.1 of MobileTogether, its framework for cross-platform mobile app development. This release introduces a new MobileTogether Server Advanced Edition, as well as new functionality in MobileTogether Designer for building services, calendar integration, pop-up windows, more granular testing options, and more.

Here are a few highlights of the new features:

• Services are solutions with no UI that are built in MobileTogether Designer and run on a customer's MobileTogether Server. Services provide background functionality to other apps, such as sending a notification or email, updating a report, and so on, when certain conditions are met. Once a service is deployed to the customer's MobileTogether Server, conditions such as time triggers, file system events, and HTTP triggers can be defined to trigger the service to run.
  
  Services are supported by the new MobileTogether Server Advanced Edition, which provides specialized functionality for the most sophisticated app development scenarios.
  
  
• New support to read/write to device calendars provides rich integration with the calendar(s) on the user's device for apps that include scheduling functinality.  
  
  
  
  
  
  During app simulation in MobileTogether Designer, it is now also possible to use the Outlook contacts manager and Outlook calendars for testing apps with email and calendar integration.
  
  
• Rich text control allows developers to implement solutions that support rich text, or text that includes formatting such as font sizes, bold, and italics. This support is important especially for solutions used in the Windows 8/10 client and web browser.
  
  
  
• New support for pop-up windows makes configuring a pop-up window as easy as defining a sub-page in the app design.
  
  
• Numerous other new controls, actions, and properties
