Survey Reveals IDERA ER/Studio Customers Continue to Experience Increased Data Modeling Efficiency

IDERA (a division of Idera, Inc.), a provider of powerful database productivity tools, today announced global customer survey results that reveal the leading data modeling pain points of database administrators (DBAs). The survey also reveals the key benefits of IDERA ER/Studio, with 70 percent of respondents confirming increased efficiency when they use the tool for data modeling tasks.

Independent research firm TechValidate conducted the survey of organizations in a variety of industries, including financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, government, defense and agriculture.

The survey results revealed that 87% of respondents improved cross-functional communication using ER/Studio, while 83% achieved progress in data governance.

In addition, the top modeling challenges addressed by ER/Studio as cited by survey participants included merging and tracking changes between models and databases (52%), engaging with business stakeholders to create models that reflect the business (51%), defining common objects and elements that can be reused across models (49%), determining and implementing the enterprise data architecture strategy (44%), and identifying common concepts used across multiple database implementations (38%).

"My organization is gaining a lot of value from using ER/Studio to produce data models for both the enterprise and individual projects. The tools are easy to use and have very rich functionality. In particular, the support of Barker notation in Business Architect is invaluable for us," said Dean Sumner, a data architect at Prudential.

"The ER/Studio interface really allows me to focus on the right things at the right time in the data modeling process," said Todd Sorrell, a data architect at Relias Learning.

"ER/Studio is clearly one of the leading database modeling tools. It has interesting advanced features such as macros," said Michael Blaha, a data modeler at Computer.org.

"ER/Studio simplifies the building of data models from concept to the physical implementation," said Rao Kunche, a business intelligence and data warehouse specialist at The University of Wisconsin-Madison.

"ER/Studio is the premier data modeling tool on the market," said Jamie Vasser, an IT specialist at the US Department of Transportation.

"I have used a number of data modeling tools over the years and ER/Studio is the most user-friendly. It is great for submodeling and reverse engineering with large databases," said Roger Francis, a data architect at Caravan and Motorhome Club.
