Teletrac Navman DIRECTOR® Prioritized for FedRAMP Authorization

GLENVIEW, Ill., Feb. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Teletrac Navman, a global software-as-a-service provider that leverages location-based technology for GPS tracking solutions, in partnership with its subsidiary, Fleet Management Solutions (FMS), announced today that the DIRECTOR® product platform has achieved FedRAMP Ready status from the Federal Risk and Authorization Program (FedRAMP). Additionally, it has been prioritized to receive a Provisional Authority to Operate (P-ATO) from the Joint Authorization Board (JAB). DIRECTOR was one of five products chosen, out of several business cases submitted, to be sponsored by the JAB, FedRAMP's primary decision-making body.

FedRAMP is a U.S. government-wide risk management program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services among federal agencies. To date, DIRECTOR is the only GPS fleet management solution to be selected for a JAB P-ATO, which applies to non-classified technology systems under the Federal Information Security Management Act(FISMA).

Following an initial round of rigorous technical reviews, DIRECTOR achieved FedRAMP moderate certification and security assessment by CIOs of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), General Services Administration (GSA) and Department of Defense (DOD)—all of whom comprise the JAB. Once a FedRAMP-authorized product, DIRECTOR will be certified as a highly secure third-party cloud solution and, therefore, eligible for procurement by all federal agencies.

"In today's cybersecurity climate, where a single data breach can prove catastrophic, we recognize that the protection of government information and critical infrastructure is beyond imperative. By participating in the FedRAMP program, Teletrac Navman underscores its commitment to maintaining our federal customers' security posture," said Daren Lauda, general manager of Teletrac Navman, North America. "Additionally, our private-sector customers can remain confident in the protection of their most sensitive business data with DIRECTOR's government-grade security standards."

Launched in 2016, DIRECTOR is a GPS fleet management platform used by businesses in a variety of industries to track assets and collect valuable business insights for enhanced productivity and safety. The technology currently tracks more than 500,000 vehicles, owned by over 40,000 organizations, across six continents.

DIRECTOR can be found in the GSA's catalog under Fleet Management Solutions, Inc., in schedule 84 with the contract number GS-07F-0530W.
