Mintz Levin Expands Washington, D.C. Office with Arrival of Member O'Kelly McWilliams


Mintz Levin is pleased to welcome back O'Kelly E. McWilliams III, who returns to the firm as a Member in the Employment, Labor & Benefits Section. Mr. McWilliams most recently was the Office Managing Partner of the Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland offices of Gordon & Rees.

Mr. McWilliams' clients include multi-national companies, private equity firms and emerging businesses. He has extensive experience counseling and handling matters for clients on a broad range of business issues, with an emphasis on employment law issues as they relate to transactions and disputes.

Mr. McWilliams handles equity-based compensation and incentive plans, executive employment agreements, and severance and change in control agreements. He advises on the employment and compensation aspects of M&A deals and other corporate transactions. He regularly conducts and advises on compensation audits to assist companies in mitigating risk as it relates to pay disparity issues.

Outside the office, Mr. McWilliams is Chairman of the Epsilon Zeta Boule Foundation; Co-General Counsel of The National Association of Investment Companies and General Counsel of MVP International Athletics. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Virginia Retirement System, an almost $80 billion dollar public pension plan based in Richmond, VA. As a board member he also participates in several committees, including the Benefits & Actuarial, Audit and Compliance, Defined Contribution Plan and Administration and Personnel Committees.
