Fidelis Cybersecurity (Fidelis), a leading automation detection and response company, announces Kurt Abkemeier as chief financial officer of the company. Abkemeier's experience leading high growth technology companies comes at a critical time for Fidelis. Since joining the company in July 2017, Abkemeier has worked on the transformation of the company, enhanced the cost structure of the business and relocated the headquarters from Waltham, MA to Bethesda, MD. During the second half of 2017, Fidelis double downed on its technology innovation and investment as it continues its commitment to secure enterprises from the rapidly evolving threat landscape. A seasoned financial leader for well-established technology organizations, Abkemeier brings more than 20 years of experience to Fidelis, where he will play a critical role in its business strategy in 2018 an accelerating the company's enterprise and mid-market growth. Prior to joining Fidelis, Abkemeier served as the CFO for Progress Software, a global enterprise software company focused on application development and deployment technologies with $400 million in revenues. While there, Abkemeier made a marked impact on the company where shortly after joining, he executed an operational restructuring which reduced operating expenses by nearly $50 million. Before Progress, Abkemeier was the CFO of Inteliquent, a wholesale voice telecommunications company. Another large public company, during his tenure, Abkemeier nearly doubled the company's revenues from $220 million to $400 million and positioned the company for a very successful $800MM sale to GTCR. In addition to these two roles, during his career, Abkemeier also held senior executive positions at Cbeyond (News - Alert) Inc. and AirGate PCS.
