Governor Otter Proclaims Jan. 21-27 "Idaho School Choice Week"; Joins Leaders Nationwide in Celebrating Opportunity in Education

Thanks to a proclamation from Gov. Butch Otter, Jan. 21-27, 2018 will officially be Idaho School Choice Week. Dozens of governors and hundreds of city and county leaders nationwide have issued similar proclamations.

With more than 32,000 events across the country, including 230 in Idaho, National School Choice Week will be the largest-ever celebration of opportunity in education. The events and activities, including rallies, roundtable discussions, coffeehouse meet-ups, festivals, school fairs, and more, will give parents an opportunity to discuss and explore the educational settings where they would like their children to learn and grow.

"Idaho parents, like parents everywhere, simply want the best for their children and nothing less," said Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week. "We hope they can use this week to find schools or educational settings that are eactly what their children need. We're grateful to Gov. Otter for issuing this proclamation so more Idaho parents can be aware of their opportunities."

Held every January, National School Choice Week is an independent, nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort designed to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for every child. Through thousands of independently planned events across the country, National School Choice Week raises public awareness of all types of educational choices available to children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.
