EvoNexus Welcomes 6 New Board Directors from BOSE Corporation, TDK InvenSense, Qualcomm, LG Electronics and Knobbe Martens


SAN DIEGO, Dec. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Six technology industry leaders were elected on December 15th to the Board of Directors of EvoNexus, further expanding the breadth of technology sectors that partner with the incubator.

Brian Modoff, Executive Vice President, Strategy and M&A, Qualcomm, (NASDAQ: QCOM) was elected to the EvoNexus Board of Directors. In his role at Qualcomm, Mr. Modoff partners closely with the Executive Committee to help define Qualcomm's strategic direction and long-term vision in order to ensure strong cohesion and alignment with all strategic planning efforts throughout the organization. Qualcomm Ventures also reports into Mr. Modoff.

Behrooz Abdi,  President and CEO, General Manager of MEMS Sensors Business Group, InvenSense, a TDK Group (OTC: TTDKY), was also elected the EvoNexus Board of Directors. Abdi, a member of InvenSense's board of directors since June 2011, was appointed President and CEO in October 2012. When InvenSense was acquired by TDK in December 2016, Mr. Abdi became the General Manager of MEMS Sensors Business Group. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of NetLogic Microsystems (NASDAQ), Inc, a leader in intelligent semiconductor solutions for the Internet. NetLogic was acquired by Broadcom.

Jae Hyung Lee, VP, LG Electronics & Head, LG Electronics Mobile Research, was elected to the EvoNexus Board of Directors. LG Electronis Mobile Research Company is a global leader in the mobile and wearable industry with groundbreaking technologies and designs. LG is also committed to guiding consumers into the era of convergence and the Internet of Things, maximizing inter-device connectivity between a wide range of smartphones, tablets, wearables, home and portable electronics products.



Steve Romine, Director Corporate Development, Bose Corporation & Managing Director, Bose Ventures was elected to the EvoNexus Board of Directors. Bose acquired an EvoNexus portfolio company, HUSH Technology, Inc. in 2017. Steve Romine has served as Director of Corporate Development at Bose Corporation since 2015 and is the Managing Director at Bose Ventures since April 2017. Bose is a privately held company with annual sales in excess of $3.5 billion, twenty subsidiary companies and over 10,000 employees worldwide.

Mike Fuller, Managing Partner, Knobbe Martens, was elected to the EvoNexus Board of Directors. Mike Fuller is co-Managing Partner of the San Diego office of Knobbe Martens and a member of the firm's Executive Committee. With over two decades of IP experience, and a unique technological background, Mike represents a diverse group of clients in high stakes contentious and transactional IP matters in the biotechnology and high technology industries. Mike has been named as one of San Diego's Super Lawyers for 2015, 2016 and 2017.


Derek Aberle, President, Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM), was elected to the EvoNexus Board of Directors as an Independent Director. Mr. Aberle serves as president of Qualcomm Incorporated and is responsible for the oversight for all business divisions across the organization, as well as the company's global market development and marketing groups. Mr. Aberle is also responsible for formulating and driving key strategies for diversifying and growing the company in both Qualcomm's core businesses, as well as new business opportunities such as data center and mobile healthcare solutions.
