MP Boissonnault Announces Funding for Cleaner Energy Options in AlbertaEDMONTON, Dec. 15, 2017 /CNW/ - Harnessing innovation and creativity, Canada is developing our natural resources more sustainably, growing our economy and creating cleaner energy options in our transition to a low-carbon economy. Our government understands that investments in clean technology build a stronger economy and drive sustainable prosperity. Member of Parliament for Edmonton Centre, Randy Boissonnault, on behalf of the Honourable Jim Carr, Canada's Minister of Natural Resources, today announced $22 million for seven clean technology projects for the oil and gas as well as the carbon capture, use and storage industries. These seven innovative projects — by Husky Oil, Suncor Energy, Proton Technologies, Inventys Thermal Technologies, Carbon Upcycling Technologies, Quantiam Technologies and Carbon Engineering — demonstrate the potential of clean technology in extracting, producing and using reources more cleanly, thus helping create a future that might have once seemed impossible. These programs are key components of the Government's approach to promoting jobs and economic growth while improving the sustainability of energy resources as we transition to a low-carbon economy.
