Softchoice, Lenovo and VMware Award 10 Deserving Schools with Power Up Technology GrantsSoftchoice, a leading North American provider of IT solutions and managed services - together with program partners Lenovo (News - Alert) and VMware - are thrilled to announce the names of 10 deserving schools from across North America who will receive 2017 Power Up grants for $10,000 each in classroom technology. "Power Up helps establish a level playing field for under-resourced students who desperately need access to 21st-century technology," said Vince De Palma, Softchoice's (News - Alert) President and CEO. "Working together with passionate principals and teachers from these 10 amazing schools, we believe that technology has the power to unleash the potential of every student and set them on the path to future success." The 2017 Power Up program was open to publicly-funded elementary and middle schools serving low-income neighborhoods in eight U.S. and Canadian communities. Winning schools were selected based on a significant economic need for their student population, a compelling need for technology resources, and a strong plan to improve learning outcomes for students while leveraging the technology in he classroom. The following schools will each receive a $10,000 Softchoice Power Up grant for classroom technology:

Power Up applications were evaluated and winners were selected by members of the employee-led Softchoice Cares board and Power Up ambassadors from Softchoice, Lenovo and VMware.
