BlueFrame on a Roll, with Key New Features and 210 New Customers

LEXINGTON, Ky., Nov. 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- As the popularity of Internet-delivered live sports broadcasts continues to grow, BlueFrame Technology, the only end-to-end live streaming technology provider specializing in the sports market, today announced correspondingly rapid growth in the last few months. Highlights include the addition of over 210 new customers, including several NCAA athletic conferences, plus new customized mobile apps for customers and Secure Reliable Transport.

"We're really pleased with the growth we've seen in the last few months, mostly via word of mouth about our products, services, and support" said Ben Kant, BlueFrame CEO. "Consumers are increasingly expecting to be able to watch live sports and other events wherever they are, on any device. BlueFrame customers can meet that expectation, not only creating great-looking content using Production Truck™ software, but delivering it to their branded web portal, OTT apps, and mobile apps, all of which we can provide. They can also deliver their live broadcasts simultaneously to third-party sites, such as Facebook and YouTube, while posting near-real-time video highlights to Facebook and Twitter, resulting in a broader audience discovering the content and engaging via social media."

The surge in new customers includes five more NCAA conferences. In Division II, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) has deployed Production Truck Pro software at nine member schools, and The MIAA Network, the ECC Network, and the Mountain East Digital Network are using Production Truck Pro software, vCloud™ streaming services, and BluePlayer™ players for browsers and over-the-top(OTT) devices (i.e., Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV). In Division I, the WAC Digital Network is similarly using the end-to-end BlueFrame technology stack to reach their OTT audience. BlueFrame also signed new longer-term contracts with many existing customers, including a five-year agreement with the NJCAA.

Further fueling growth, BlueFrame recently acquired City Link TV, whose broadcasters represent not only many local sports organizations, but also radio stations, houses of worship, businesses, and city governments. For City Link TV customers, moving to the BlueFrame platform upgrades the streaming technology that had been powering the service, makes on-boarding easier, expands the depth and breadth of customer support, and introduces a new set of features and capabilities that simplify broadcasting and expand audience reach.

In September, BlueFrame started releasing conference-branded BluePlayer mobile player apps for iOS and Android, allowing conferences and their member schools to better reach their audiences with both live and on-demand video and audio. The GLVC Sports Network and IHSAA TV were the first to deploy these mobile apps.

BlueFrame also recently joined the SRT Alliance and started integrating the Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) streaming protocol into Production Truck and vCloud. Customers broadcasting over low-bandwidth or poor-quality network connections will be able to more reliably get their live broadcasts from older and remote venues up to vCloud for high-quality delivery to viewers. BlueFrame partnered with Wowza Media Systems at IBC to demonstrate the benefits of SRT for this common use case.
