Bivio Achieves NIAP Common Criteria Certification on Two Cyber Security PlatformsPLEASANTON, Calif., Oct. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Bivio Networks, Inc. (Bivio), a developer of innovative, high-performance network security platform solutions for federal and commercial network operators and large enterprise customers, today announced that the Bivio 6110-NC and 6120-NC Compact Cyber Security Application Platforms have received Common Criteria Certification. The platforms were rigorously tested and validated by an approved independent laboratory for compliance to the collaborative Protection Profile for Network Devices (cPP-ND) Version 1.0 as overseen by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP). In addition to completing the NIAP Common Criteria certification, the Bivio 6110-NC and 6120-NC platforms have been added to the Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) Components List maintained by the National Security Agency (NSA). Products from the CSfC Components List are eligible for use in NSA approved Capability Packages for protecting classified data for a variety of different capabilities. "The NIAP Common Criteria certification for the Bivio 6110-NC and 6120-NC platforms reinforce our commitment to delivering products that meet the stringent security and assurance requirements of our customers," said Keith Glover, president, Bivio Networks. "In addition to achieving the Common Criteria certification, we are also pleased that the platforms are now available for use in properly configured, layered solutions to protect classified data for U.S. Government customers through the NSA CSfC Components List." The NIAP-managed Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS) ensures achievable, repeatable, and testable security requirements for Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) IT products. The security and assurance confirmed through the successful evaluation of the product is required for deployment in federal government, national security and intelligence networks. High-Assurance TLS Proxy Services The Bivio 6110-NC enforces TLS with FIPS 140-2 Levels 1 and 2 validated encryption to protect mobile communications of classified and unclassified data, and can interface directly with many mobile VMI providers for the virtual desktop interface to mobile users. High Performance Packet Acceleration for Cyber Security Applications The extraordinary cyber security application processing is achieved through BiviOS™, a patented packet acceleration and application environment that is fully integrated with the standard Linux libraries. Using this implementation, the application does not need to be modified with any system details – it only needs to invoke the standard Linux network traffic and packet handling mechanisms. This compatibility delivers significant performance improvements over server-class appliances for open source Linux applications such as Suricata, Bro, SNORT®, Argus, YAF, nProbe, TCPdump, as well as other commercial and proprietary software.
