Edgar joined other technical and business leaders within the federal community to discuss how Tableau's data analytics capabilities can bring value to agencies. He presented on how to effectively use a "bi-modal" strategy when implementing data analytics initiatives and adopting a modern data environment. Bi-modal IT implementation maintains the core functionality of agencies' traditional capabilities, while allowing rapid innovation of data environments through self-service data integration, exploration and visualization.

"Transitioning to and sustaining a modern data environment demands agility and flexibility, which a bi-modal implementation srategy ensures," said Edgar. "This strategy, leveraging Tableau's capabilities, enables federal agencies to seamlessly integrate data analytics into their business processes and produce value-based solutions that make an immediate impact on their missions."

"The Government continues to rapidly expand its use of data to drive decision-making, with many agencies relying on Tableau to achieve that goal," said Sean Brophy Vice President for Public Sector at Tableau. "Partners such as Salient CRGT deliver the Tableau expertise, along with the deep government domain knowledge, to build out enterprise analytics solutions across a broad array of use cases."

The forum was held at the GSA's Denver Federal Center, a 4,000,000 square feet facility home to 26 different federal agencies and 6,200 federal employees, making it the largest concentration of federal agencies outside of Washington, D.C. In addition to a presentation on Tableau's capabilities, the Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Department of Interior (DOI) presented customer use cases on how Tableau has assisted their agencies.
