Kuepa Closes $2.5 Million Equity Investment from Potencia Ventures and Zoma Capital

Kuepa closed a $2.5 Million equity investment from Edge Performance Ltd., part of the Potencia Ventures group of entities, and Zoma Capital. This investment will allow Kuepa to continue opening new schools and expand its vocational training programs in Mexico, Colombia, and launch operations in Chile.

"We are excited to work with Kuepa in expanding its innovative educational model to help more adults complete their high school and develop job specific skills to improve their employability." says Patrick Maloney, who will be joining Kuepa's board on Potencia Ventures' behalf.

"Over 40% of all adults in LATAM have not completed their high school. Kuepa has developed a unique model to prepare these candidates to achieve high school graduation, and offer them short language, skills and vocational trainings to enhance their employability. Kuepa has developed a blended educational model which relies on small school sites and online learning, working with employers, governments and other players to achieve the broadest possible reach," mentioned co-founder and CEO Gonzalo Pulit.

Kuepa currently operates seven sites in Mexico and three in Colombia, and serves over 4,000 students at its sites. In addition, through its B2B programs, more than 47,000 students are utilizing the Kuepa online platform and its digital educational content in LATAM.

"We are very impressed by Kuepa's highly efficient model for reaching and preparing young adults that have dropped out of high school, to obtin their high school degree and develop job relevant skills. We are excited to support Kuepa's existing efforts in Colombia and Mexico, and its expansion into Chile," says Melissa Cheong of Zoma Capital.

Kuepa Co-Founder Jorge GarcĂa states: "It's a great opportunity to be working with Potencia and Zoma Capital. We are confident that their expertise and insights will help us expand our mission to provide employability training that is both affordable and job relevant."

Existing investors in Kuepa include Inicia Education, from the Dominican Republic, and the FOMIN, an investment arm of the Inter-american Development Bank.
