Verity Health Establishes Pancreatic Cancer Program with Thought Leader Oncologist Bringing Expertise in Pancreas and Gastrointestinal Cancers


Verity Health, a nonprofit healthcare system, today announced that thought leader Tara E. Seery, M.D., has joined the health system to bring highly specialized cancer expertise to Southern California. Dr. Seery is a nationally renowned medical oncologist who specializes in treating cancers of the pancreas, esophagus, colon, rectum, anus and liver. She has extensive experience in pancreatic cancer, including multiple scientific publications, and is one of the nation's highest enrollers in early phase pancreatic cancer trials. Dr. Seery's practice will be based in Laguna Hills at the Chan Soon-Shiong Institute for Medicine (CSSIFM) Clinic, located at 23961 Calle De La Magdalena, Suite 130, Laguna Hills, CA 92653.

Dr. Seery's research experience includes neoadjuvant chemotherapy, intraoperative chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer and treatments for neuropathic pain. She has also been the primary investigator for 20 oncology trials. Dr. Seery has numerous scientific publications in the field and is an invited speaker around the world. A dedicated teacher, Dr. Seery was featured recently at the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Annual Lecture Series.

Dr. Seery received her medical degree from University College Dublin School of Medicine after receiving her bachelor of science degree from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Seery did her residency and fellowship training in hematology/oncology at Caritas St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston and completed her fellowship training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Most recently, Dr. Seery was an Associate Professor at UC Irvine in the Division of Hematology Oncology, where she received the prestigious C. Ronal Koons, M.D. Humanitarian Award for service and compassion to patients.
