NTT DATA to Host Open Innovation Contest 7.0 in Search of New Partners and Businesses

NTT DATA Corporation (NTT (News - Alert) DATA) is now accepting applications for its 7^th Open Innovation Contest through the contest's official website. Regional contests will be held at 15 locations - San Francisco, Tokyo, Melbourne, Toronto, Santiago, Sao Paulo, London, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Milan, Tel Aviv, Mumbai, Singapore and Guiyang. The winners will be invited to the Grand Finale in Tokyo in March 2018. The Grand Finale winner will receive a three month, in-kind contribution to support the development of the proposed new business.

NTT DATA has been hosting open innovation contests twice a year since 2014. The last global Contest hosted regional semifinals in nine countries to further emphasize the global aspect of the event, and received more than 400 proposals from across the world. The Grand Finale winner, Barcelona-based Social Coin, has already undergone intensive business development. In addition to the Grand Finale winner, NTT DATA is engaging with six other finalists to discuss potentials for co-creating innovative businesses.

As a result of last year's success, NTT DATA expanded this contest to 15 cities. Any startup company can submit a proposal in fields such as FinTech, InsurTech, HealthcareTech, Financial Inclusion, RegTech, IoT, digital marketing, Blockchain, virtual currency, API, personal data, AI, drone, digital archive, BPM, energy or quantum computing.
