Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) and Information Technology K T Ramarao, Launches Motivity Labs Smart City Waste Management SystemHYDERABAD, India, July 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- During the inaugural ceremony of National Waste Management Summit held at the Taj Krishna hotel in Hyderabad on June 28, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) unveiled the Smart City Waste Management System which was developed in partnership with Motivity Labs. The system will track all activities and provide information to a new website and mobile app. Collection bins and vehicles are tagged with RFID; the vehicles are also outfitted with GPS to track collections made along all routes across Hyderabad. With this system, GHMC will have transparency in tracking regular collections to ensure efficiency and minimize missed collections. GHMC Minister K Taraka Rama and Mayor Bonthu Rammohan took the opportunity to introduce the new system during the inaugural National WasteManagement Summit as vital in sharing best practices with other participants in attendance. GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy said, "The objective behind organizing the summit was to create a platform to share best practices used in different municipal corporations to hopefully inspire self-transformation and willingness to learn from others."
