Silent Circle Appoints Joshua Konowe to Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer


Silent Circle, a pioneer in enterprise-class mobile security, privacy and compliance solutions, today announced that Joshua Konowe, talented marketing expert and Founder of Uppidy, has been named Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer. In this position, Konowe brings a wealth of B2B SaaS (News - Alert) and mobile experience that will be leveraged to position Silent Circle for continued growth in the secure unified communications industry.

Throughout his 20-year career, Konowe has provided value-driven results. As an early stage CEO, he coordinated several successful exits for both bootstrapped and venture funded businesses. He has guest lectured on several topics related to entrepreneurship at nearly a dozen colleges and universities around the country including Georgetown, American University and The University of Kentucky. A recent highlight, includes a 10-minute TEDx Talk he conducted on the subject of trust in Tauranga, New Zealand (Trust in Business). Prior to his startup experience, Konowe worked at Nielsen, Katz Radio Group, TheDeal and Insitutional Investor Magazine.



Konowe's passion for mobile was unearthed in Uppidy, a venture backed startup that he founded in 2011, which was subsequently acquired in 2014. Uppidy helped companies and individuals securely backup text/sms messages to the cloud. "I am really excited to dive back into the unified communications vertical," said Konowe. "Following Uppidy's acquisition, I have been anxious to get involved into the space again."

Konowe's experience will support the go-to-market strategy of Silent Circle's fundamentally different technology, which sets the standard for enterprise privacy and security.
